During the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, the heads of state of China and Russia announced that 2022-2023 will become the Years of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports. It is within the framework of this program that the current youth games are held. “Friendship, Cooperation, Exchange and Progress” is the motto of the competition aimed at raising the level of competitive sports between Russian and Chinese youth, promoting exchanges between the two countries and Russia-China cooperation in a new era.
The countries established the Sino-Russian Winter Youth Games in 2016, with the first tournament being held in Harbin, China, and the second in the Russian city of Ufa. In recent years, Jilin Province has been actively building a complete system of ice and snow industry, including ice and snow tourism, ice and snow sports, ice and snow culture and equipment for ice and snow. Holding the Winter Youth Games this year will give new impetus to the development of the ice and snow economy in Jilin Province.
