China is about to cancel mandatory covid PCR tests for foreign tourists before entering the country. This is reported by TASS in reference to the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Wenbin.
The measure will enter into force on August 30. Earlier, China simplified entry rules for tourists and lifted major coronavirus restrictions. In late February, Russia and China renewed an agreement on visa-free group travel that had been suspended due to the pandemic. And on March 15, the country resumed issuing all types of visas to foreign citizens.
In March 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, China temporarily banned foreign nationals with valid visas and residence permits from entering the country, and Chinese consular offices in other countries suspended the issuance of visas.
