Irish actor Cillian Murphy, who starred in Oppenheimer and Peaky Blinders, has said he would love to play Ken in a Barbie sequel. He said it in an interview with Omele TV.
Journalists asked Oppenheimer’s team what they thought about the simultaneous release of their film and Barbie in theaters and would like to play in the sequel to Greta Gerwig’s tape. Emily Blunt and Matt Damon said they would have accepted literally any role in the Gerwig project.
Damon noted at the same time that he could not have reincarnated as Ken better than Ryan Gosling, since he did not have enough “Ken energy”. Murphy, when asked if he would play Barbie’s boyfriend, replied without hesitation, “Of course!”
“Let’s read the script, let’s talk,” the actor said, adding that he can’t wait to see the Barbie movie.
Christopher Nolan has revealed that Cillian Murphy auditioned for the role of Batman in Batman Begins but ended up playing Scarecrow.
