This was reported by TASS in the shipbuilding industry. On December 17, 2021, a fire broke out in a corvette under construction at the Severnaya Verf in Saint Petersburg. The fire damaged the upper deck, the main command post wheelhouse, and the integrated tower and mast structure.
After clarifying the causes and circumstances of the emergency, the commission decided that the corvette could be completed. In November 2022 a new superstructure was installed on the hull.
A crew has already been formed for the corvette that will serve in the Pacific Fleet. Sailors will undergo training in St. Petersburg and learn the principles of building a new corvette and the basics of operation in basic specialties.
“Provorny” is a Project 20385 corvette, the second in the series. It will be armed with Caliber cruise missiles. New Zircon anti-ship hypersonic cruise missiles may be installed on ships of this series. The lead corvette of the project, Gremyashchiy, is already serving in the Pacific Fleet.
