“Washington and NATO, with the help of Ukraine, are waging a proxy war with Russia,” he said (quoted by RIA Novosti).
Milanovic stressed that he does not see the ultimate goal of the sanctions against Moscow.
“Sanctions cannot be a plan. These are stupid and we will achieve nothing with this,” the Croatian leader said.
Milanovic has previously spoken out against the training of the Ukrainian army in the country. The country’s parliament also did not support this initiative.
