The wives and children of the investors whose details were not disclosed also lost their citizenship, government spokesman Konstantinos Letimpiotis said.
This decision was taken by the Council of Ministers of Cyprus, chaired by the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis.
The Cypriot government terminated the investment passport issuance program in 2020, and already in 2021 began the process of deprivation of citizenship in relation to more than two hundred “investors” and their families. According to the officials, these people did not have sufficient grounds to obtain a Cypriot passport.
