According to the newspaper, the fine was preceded by an immigration check, which was organized by the Finnmark provincial police after the Russians disembarked.
The sailors’ working clothes had a patch with the flag of the Russian Federation and the name of the country. Law enforcement officials noted that such “winter clothing can easily be mistaken for a military uniform.”
Prosecutor Martina Meslo said that walking around the city in such clothes “could cause fear and discomfort” for local residents. At the same time, she acknowledged that wearing camouflage clothing is not illegal in principle.
However, the Russians were fined 5,000 NOK (about 35,000 rubles), or 10,000 for two, TASS reports.
