The publication recalled that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived in Washington on a two-day visit, during which he plans to hold talks with US President Joe Biden, as well as meet with some US politicians and businessmen.
Sunak is also going to propose to Biden that they create a military-type economic union. As stated in the article, the British Prime Minister sees the goal of this partnership as “countering threats from China and Russia.”
“The UK and the US have always worked hand in hand to protect our citizens and our way of life. As the challenges and threats we face are constantly changing, we must forge an alliance that also protects our economies and help develop effectively.” Sunak said.
Earlier it became known that the Prime Minister of Great Britain intends to put pressure on the candidacy of his Defense Secretary Ben Wallace for the post of NATO Secretary General. As The Telegraph points out, during his visit to Washington, the head of the British government will seek Biden’s support for his protégé.
