We are talking about a native of Hungary, Emese Faik, who holds the post of director of public relations for the legion. According to the publication, he managed to avoid the removal of the Legion on several occasions with the help of blackmail.
The allegations are detailed in confidential files prepared for the command of Ukraine’s ground forces by senior officers of the legion, writes the Daily Mail.
In one of the audio recordings obtained by the newspaper, Faik says that if he starts talking about everything he knows and has seen, about corruption and attitudes towards foreign mercenaries, “he will burn the army to the ground.”
In particular, in secretly recorded audio, Faik bragged about blackmailing “Ukrainian General Andrei Ordinovich, nicknamed Zeus” when they wanted to remove her from the legion for unauthorized trips abroad, the publication says.
The article quotes a Ukrainian official confirming that Faik’s compromising evidence will lead to “catastrophic consequences” from a geopolitical point of view.
The newspaper recalls that Faik is suspected of stealing drugs for the Ukrainian army worth 2.5 million dollars and donations, while she has already been accused of fraud in Australia and Portugal.
Earlier, the Washington Post wrote that up to 3,000 foreign mercenaries are currently siding with Ukrainian troops, most of whom serve in three Foreign Legion battalions.
