Daniil Medvedev regained the status of Russia’s first racket

The Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP) has updated the individual rating. Russian athlete Daniil Medvedev moved up to sixth place, overtaking Andrei Rublev. Now he is the first racket from Russia. Rublev fell from sixth to seventh place, losing one position. TASS writes about it.

The Serbian Novak Djokovic occupies the first place in the standings, the second line is occupied by Carlos Alcaras from Spain, the representative of Greece Stefanos Tsitsipas closes the top three. On March 4, in the final of the Dubai tournament, Medvedev defeated his compatriot Andrei Rublev. The fight ended with a score of 6:2 in favor of the former first racket in the world.

Medvedev won the third straight ATP tournament with 14 wins. After an unsuccessful performance at the Australian Open, he became the winner of the tournaments in Rotterdam and Doha. In the semifinals in Dubai, he defeated world number one Novak Djokovic from Serbia.

Recall that in July, Daniil Medvedev broke the Russian record for the number of weeks in the status of the first racket in the world. He was number one in the ATP ranking for ten weeks.
