American director David Fincher will receive an honorary César Award, France’s highest film award. The ceremony will take place on February 24 in Paris. Variety writes about it.

Members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Technology, which established the award, called Fincher a “visionary” and described his films as “hypnotic, intellectual and inspiring to many artists.”

“He surprised us with Seven, kept us on our toes with The Game and hit us again with Fight Club. And also Zodiac, The Social Network, Gone Girl, which is his biggest hit movie so far. It breaks the usual codes and gets great international reviews,” the Academy said in a statement.

In the past, the Césars have been awarded to Cate Blanchett, Penelope Cruz, Robert Redford and George Clooney.

Recall that David Fincher produced the television series Love, Death and Robots. Netflix has published one of the episodes of the third season of the series. The ten-minute video shows the continuation of the story about robots that appeared in the first part of the animated series.
