Six victims were previously reported.
“One victim died in hospital, so the total number of fatalities is seven people. Two of them are children,” the source said.
Nine of the victims are in hospital, two more were treated on an outpatient basis.
Recall that on Tuesday night a fire broke out in the 16-storey building that houses the “MKM” hotel. More than 50 people were rescued from the burning building. By midnight, firefighters had extinguished the fire and began to remove the debris.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case for the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements. The cause of the incident is being investigated. Arson is also considered as a possible option.
