Demonstrations under the motto “Procession in the name of peace and neutrality” are taking place again in 45 cities of Bulgaria. The protesters are calling on the authorities to drop the idea of supplying military equipment to Ukraine.
According to the protesters, Euro-Atlantists represented by the pro-Western government of Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov of the Continue Changes party want to drive the Balkan republic into armed conflict. The reason for this, in particular, was the promise of the country’s new Defense Minister Todor Tagarev to his NATO colleagues to “help Ukraine for as long as it takes.”
The organizers of the eighth such event emphasize that the demonstration is not political in nature, but is aimed at protecting the national interests of the state. Bulgarians living in Great Britain, Norway, the Czech Republic, New Zealand and Canada also came out to support their fellow citizens.
