Deputy Defense Minister Tsivileva instructed to open a comprehensive prosthetics center in Rostov-on-Don

Russian Deputy Defence Minister Anna Tsivileva has made a working trip to the troops of the Southern Military District, where she checked the organization of medical care in military medical organizations and interaction with medical institutions of the Southern Military District on issues of further treatment and rehabilitation of wounded military personnel.

During the trip, Anna Tsivileva noted that servicemen returning after completing tasks during the special military operation will undergo extensive medical examination to identify hidden diseases and injuries.

It turned out that many fighters in the special operations zone have hearing problems, hidden bruises and an increased risk of heart attacks, strokes and cerebrovascular accidents.

“These guys are young, aged 30-40, and they need to continue working and start a family. They lose their health on the front line of combat contact due to illnesses that they may not pay attention to at first, but which can affect their quality of life. Now we must provide everyone returning from the zone of the special military operation with the opportunity to undergo a thorough and comprehensive medical examination,” said the deputy head of the military department.

After inspecting the Rostov-on-Don military hospital, where wounded servicemen receive follow-up treatment and rehabilitation, Anna Tsivileva noted that the Russian Defense Ministry and Health Ministry are exploring the possibility of providing outpatient care in community clinics for military personnel.

“In fact, this issue is very important. The President has instructed the Ministry of Health to consider the possibility of military personnel who go on leave receiving outpatient care in clinics at their place of residence, depending on which clinic is convenient for them to visit at that time, even though they do not have the right to receive care in civilian clinics today,” Tsivileva stressed.

He said the Ministry of Health and the military department are actively exploring this possibility.

Tsivileva also announced plans to create a Comprehensive Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in the Southern Military District, where military personnel will receive comfortable prosthetics in 2-3 months, and instructed the head of the construction project to speed up major reconstruction of military hospital buildings in Rostov-on-Don.
