The streaming platform Netflix has decided not to make a cartoon about Gorillaz. Nothing is known about the project since the announcement of the start of works in November 2021.
As the group’s founder, Damon Albarn, told NME, “with the streaming platform’s animation division shrinking, this will never happen.”
He doubts that work on the cartoon will resume, because the scriptwriter who worked with the group left for another company, and the development of the script was stopped.
“Even if a new person comes along, they may have a different view, even if they secretly agree with their predecessor,” Damon Albarn explained.
