Earlier, the head of the Department of Emergency Situations of the country’s Interior Ministry, Raed Arafat, said that two explosions took place at a gas station in the city of Crevedia. One person died and more than 30 were injured. Of them, 26 are firefighters who arrived to put out the fire after the first explosion and were injured during the second.
Rescue teams evacuated more than three thousand people from the danger zone within a radius of 700 meters. The country’s Ministry of the Interior has set up a hotline where victims can be met.
According to the latest information, firefighters managed to locate the fire at the gas station. The threat of fire spread has been eliminated.
