Dior launched a capsule collection of beachwear

Date: April 19, 2024 Time: 12:50:02

Dior has partnered with environmental organization Parley for the Oceans for the second time to launch a capsule beachwear collection. WWD writes about it.

“I am very proud of this second collaboration with Parley for the Oceans. We managed to make a 96% sustainable collection, which is amazing,” said Kim Jones.

All items in the collaboration are made from 59% plastic found on the ocean’s surface, and 37% of the fabric is GOTS certified. This means they are free of bleaches, dyes, and other toxic chemicals. Surfboards are also made from environmentally friendly materials – Notox worked on them.

The first collaboration between Dior and Parley for the Oceans received the Forbes Green Ecological Transition Award. And in 2019, the companies launched a research project that developed materials from recycled products, including fishing gear found on shorelines around the world.

Remember that Dior will hold a show in India for the first time: the show will take place on March 30 in Mumbai, near the historical landmark “Gate of India”. This was announced on social networks by the creative director of the French fashion house Maria Grazia Chiuri.
