“The Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries… actually act according to the patterns of ISIS (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation),” he believes.

The diplomat noted that the Ukrainian army attacks residential buildings with heavy equipment, shoots at cars with civilians, loots and hunts down journalists.

He said that all these crimes are deliberately ignored by kyiv’s Western allies. Gatilov called on the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to show integrity and strongly condemn the crimes of the Kiev regime in the Kursk region.

Earlier, UN Secretary-General’s Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq said the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region increases the risk of an escalation of the situation, and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights expressed concern over reports of civilian casualties.

Ukrainian troops attacked the Russian border in the Kursk region on the morning of August 6.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Defence, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the fighting in the Kursk direction amounted to 945 soldiers and 102 armoured vehicles.

The Russian army is destroying the enemy in the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region, and is also attacking the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sumy region.
