Diptyque returns to simplicity with a new collection for the home

Date: April 19, 2024 Time: 16:58:00

Diptyque collaborated with French designer Sam Baron to create a collection of items for the home. It was called Simple Objects (translated from English – “Simple Objects”). The launch is dedicated to the perfume brand’s cult candles. Hypebeast writes about it.

Diptyque and Baron supervised four artists and a team of craftsmen in the capsule. Each of the designers, Baron himself, Samuel Accosberry, Cecile Bichon, Nicolas Marot and Gianpaolo Pagni, brought their own style and expertise. At the same time, they created a unique concept: “return to the simplicity of the form”.

Among the highlights of the collection are a porcelain container for a candle in the form of melted wax and handmade wooden coasters. All the products are made with the materials that are traditionally used to make candles: wood, wax and glass. The oval logo, found on most things, also refers to Diptyque candles.

“Despite the simplicity of form and concept, the candle requires serious craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation: from the candle artisan to the wick maker, the glass blower, the perfumer and their priceless age-old techniques” , the brand said in a statement.

Previously, Diptyque introduced a new scented candle for the home. It is called Citrouille (translated from French – “Pumpkin”) and is released in a limited edition. The scent of the novelty is reminiscent of pumpkin pie. The composition of the perfume consists of notes of pumpkin, spices and chestnuts.
