The bloody murder of 28-year-old Abby Choi is painfully reminiscent of the story of the St. Petersburg teacher Sokolov, who dismembered the body of his young lover and threw his remains into the Moika. But if St. Petersburg gives a terrible crime philosophical anguish, then in the Hong Kong tragedy there is a prosaic financial conflict.
The model blogger was first reported missing on February 22. The last person to see her was her ex-husband’s brother. The man was Abby’s driver. But confused accounts of the disappearance put forward by the family of Alex’s ex-husband, Kwong Kong-chi, raised increasing questions in the investigation. Two days later, the model’s severed body parts were found in a refrigerator in a rural house on the outskirts of the urban area of Tai Po. Her skull, some ribs and her hair were placed on a large stainless steel tray. In the room, in addition to the victim’s clothes, they also found a meat grinder and an electric saw. All this, according to the conclusions of the investigation, was traced with murder weapons.

The human remains were sent for forensic examination, which on February 26 confirmed their belonging to Abby Choi. According to one of the investigators, there was a small hole in the back of the skull, indicating a premeditated murder. Immediately after that, the police put Abby’s ex-husband on the wanted list, but by then she was already missing. They managed to arrest him the next day, on one of the remote islands. The man tried to escape in a boat, but did not have time. During a search, half a million Hong Kong dollars (9.5 million rubles) and an expensive watch valued at about $4 million were found on him.
Police also arrested Alex Kwong’s father, mother, and brother. If Kwong Kau, 65, and Anthony, 31, are directly suspected of killing his former daughter-in-law, then the mother is charged with obstruction of justice. The day before, they were charged with the murder of Abby Choi. The court refused to release them on bail. The case has been adjourned until May.
Another suspect is known to be involved in this case. In particular, we are talking about the owner of the house, where on February 24 the remains of the model were found in the refrigerator. Abby Choi was a mother of two children and a well-known model blogger in Hong Kong.

Not so long ago, she appeared on the cover of the electronic version of the glossy magazine L’Officiel Monaco and visited Paris Fashion Week. Her relationships with her husband’s former relatives were not maintained with her. Abby had a financial dispute with Kwong and his family over tens of millions of Hong Kong dollars.
Today, the investigation continues in search of the hands and torso of the deceased model.
