Disney+ has announced the release date for Ahsoka, the spin-off of The Mandalorian. The project is dedicated to the Jedi girl Ahsoka Tano. The premiere of the project will take place on August 23.
The studio also released a short video featuring Ahsoka Tano, along with Sabine Wren with Ezra Bridger’s lightsaber, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Hera Syndulla, C1-10P, Mon Mothma, and more.
The series is set after the fall of the Empire and is based on the ending of Star Wars Rebels, which focuses on Ahsoka Tano.
The role of Ahsoka continues to be played by Rosario Dawson, who first appeared in the second season of The Mandalorian. She was Skywalker’s Padawan. The cast also includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Eman Esfandi, Ray Stevenson, and Ivanna Sakhno.
The series showrunner is Dave Filoni. Written and produced by Dave Filoni with Jon Favreau.
