Dmitry Nagiyev, suspended from television, returns to television

Date: October 11, 2024 Time: 15:41:57

After the start of SVO, showman Dmitry Nagiyev disappeared from the screens. This is understandable: a presenter who worked on the largest federal channels, who acted in films and films with money from the Film Fund, like Ivan Urgant, posted on social networks an anti-war “black square” with the caption “maybe that’s enough” (author’s score). At the same time, no one began to take disciplinary measures against Dmitry, no one broke advertising contracts with him: the artist can still be seen on billboards, TV commercials and posters of the play “Kysya”, which has been staged for more than 20 years. And yet, Nagiyev disappeared from the show “The Voice”, from New Year’s lights and from TV series. His last appearance was in a short episode of the series “Chikatilo’s Shadow”, filmed a long time ago by Sarik Andreasyan. And now, two and a half years later, he is back on television.

Recently, NTV channel announced television projects that will premiere in the new television season. Among them are the continuations of the series “Sea Devils”, “Balabol”, “Nevsky”, “First Department”, “Emergency”, as well as the long-awaited flagship “Plevako” with Sergei Bezrukov in the lead role and “Evil Languages” – a detective story with Dmitry Nagiyev.

The new historical saga, which will feature the disgraced artist (if all goes according to plan), is based on the works of Nikolai Svechin (Inkin), a local historian from Nizhny Novgorod, author of historical detective novels and winner of the Russian Detective award. Specifically, based on the cycle “Investigative Chronicles”, dedicated to urban events of the late 19th and 20th centuries.

In the story, at the famous Nizhny Novgorod fair, a local nobleman, Evdokim Nefediev, is mortally wounded. City detective Alexei Lykov (Petr Rykov) takes on the high-profile case. The investigation leads the young detective into the darkest corners of the gloomy life of Nizhny Novgorod, so that even personal relationships have to be at stake.

In fact, Nagiyev played the role of the very same “oligarch” Nefedyev. Now it seems that the time has come to launch the project on NTV.

All other projects with the participation of Dmitry Nagiyev – the film adaptation of “12 Chairs”, where the actor played Ostap Bender, the comedies “Son-in-law”, “New Year in Berezovka” and “Sausage”, the series “Who is Faster?” – are currently on hold.
