Davarashvili indicated that Saakashvili’s body weight is still very low. As of February 20, her weight is just over 150 pounds and her body mass index is 18.2. The doctor notices that she is very weak.
According to Davarashvili, the patient spends most of the time in bed due to excruciating pain in the extremities. He also pointed out that the main problem at the moment is Saakashvili’s unbalanced diet. The doctor stressed that the patient’s condition does not allow starting parenteral nutrition or applying a drip.
“The patient is in his right mind, contact freely, what is left for us to do?”, the doctor complained.
She concluded that his condition had been deteriorating since October.
It was previously reported that former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili went on a hunger strike.
Recall that Saakashvili was arrested in Georgia on October 1 after arriving from Ukraine. He was convicted in absentia in the cases of the murder of banker Sandro Girgvliani and the beating of deputy Valery Gelashvili. In the first case, Saakashvili was sentenced to three years in prison, in the second – to six. In addition, he is charged in cases of dispersal of an opposition rally on November 7, 2007, and also on the pogrom of the Imedi television company. The former president denies all the accusations against him.
