Blackouts occurred in the country’s capital, Buenos Aires, and in several regions. According to local media, the emergency situation was caused by a fire in northern Argentina, which damaged a high voltage line.
Now, in Argentina and neighboring Chile, the weather is extremely hot, causing many fires. At the beginning of February it was reported that in Chile, due to forest fires, 23 died and about a thousand people were injured.
