Jakubisko, one of the members of the right-wing Czechoslovak “new wave” in cinema, according to critics’ polls, the main Slovak director of the 20th century. He has dozens of awards and prizes to his credit.
Juraj Yakubisko made feature films, including Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot,” and made many documentaries about the greatness of the socialist community within the CMEA.
His father’s death at the age of 85 was reported to the Slovak channel RTVS by his daughter Janette.
