Von der Leyen expressed his hope that “an important step forward in support of Kyiv will be taken at the Ramstein meeting.”
The head of the EC also highlighted that the EU has already approved a program of macro-financial credit assistance to Ukraine for 18,000 million euros.
The contact group meeting on Ukraine will take place on January 20 at the Ramstein airbase in Germany.
Earlier on Tuesday, the head of the European Commission announced the European Union’s intention to introduce the tenth package of sanctions against Russia. He called the goal of the sanctions the recession of the Russian economy for decades.
