Electric cars, although their sales improve at the end of each month, have yet to fully take off in Spain. The aid from the Moves Plan has slightly boosted the sales of these vehicles and the recent announcement about the possibility of deducting their cost in the income statement marks the path towards the electrification of the car park.
In Europe, the reality is different, since there are several countries (especially in the north of the continent, where salaries are higher and the charging infrastructure is more consistent) in which electric cars have been very well received. This reality is one of the factors why an electric car is one of the best sellers in Europe.
We are talking about the Tesla Model Y, the mid-size SUV from the Elon Musk brand. This electric company has registered 136,564 new units, with a growth of 204% compared to the first half of 2022, according to data from Jato Dynamics. It therefore becomes the car that has improved its sales results the most this year.
It is followed in the ranking by the always-favorite Dacia Sandero, one of the cheapest cars on the market, due to its price content, after selling 123,408 units. In third position is the German SUV Volkswagen T-Roc, with 111,692 units sold; the Peugeot 208, with 105,699 units, and the Opel Corsa, with 105,637 new units delivered.
The Tesla Model Y is within the aid of the Moves Plan
In Spain, the Tesla Model Y is sold in its most basic version for 46,490 euros with VAT included. The next version, Great Autonomy, costs 53,400 euros with VAT and the Performance, 59,990 euros. Obviously, these prices do not include accessories such as the tow ball or paint colors such as red, blue or silver, so only black and white are included in these prices.
The first and second versions are, on the other hand, suitable for applying for aid for the purchase of electric cars from the Moves Plan. The price limit of the cars that are eligible for these incentives is 45,000 euros without taxes or 54,450 euros with VAT included. The maximum aid that can be requested with the Moves Plan is 7,000 euros whenever a vehicle is scrapped with the purchase of a new one with reduced emissions.
