In his opinion, this could be achieved by supplying grain, but not to the West, but to African countries and other regions in need of grain. Erdogan stressed that he discussed this option with Russian President Vladimir Putin and plans to continue negotiations on this issue.
“I hope that thanks to the results we achieve in this matter, the Black Sea grain corridor will be operational again,” Anadolu Agency quoted the Turkish leader as saying.
Erdogan stressed the Russian side’s readiness to supply grain to countries in Africa and the Global South.
“As for Africa, Russia, as Erdogan noted, “is ready to mobilize all its capabilities to supply grain to poor countries,” the agency’s material explains.
Recall that at the beginning of the year, Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin does not see any preconditions for resuming the grain deal.
