Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel-General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov checked the progress of the formation of the Bars-Kursk volunteer detachment during a trip to the troops of the Moscow Military District.
“We are creating Bars detachments in the three border regions (Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk), we call them Bars-Kursk, Bars-Belgorod and Bars-Bryansk,” Yunus-Bek Evkurov said. The main task of these detachments is to assist the operational headquarters of the governor and through the CTO in solving the problems that arise currently, including with or without weapons. These are issues related to the evacuation of the population, assistance in extinguishing fires, if with weapons, then about the protection of important communications and life support facilities. The training itself, which I have just seen, in principle, requires improvement, taking into account that a lot of time is spent on training, and there must be other things, including specific ones. For this, it is necessary to complete some educational facilities,” Yunus-Bek Evkurov stressed.
The combat general checked the training of the contract soldiers on the firing line at the range. He shared his own combat experience with the soldiers and gave them advice on how to act more effectively as part of a platoon.
In addition, the Deputy Head of the Military Department met with the Acting Governor of the Kursk Region, Alexei Smirnov. During the meeting, the comprehensive support and training of the detachment’s volunteers was discussed, and an agreement was signed between the Russian Ministry of Defence and the regional administration on cooperation in the area of their recruitment, support and use.
