The contactless fare payment system in public transport Face Pay in Moscow will be renamed “Biometric Payment System”. The name was chosen by the Muscovites themselves, who participated in the vote on the Active Citizen portal. Vedomosti writes about it.
The survey involved 195,485 people. 21% voted for the “Biometric payment system” option. In second place – “Pay with a smile”, which got 19% of the vote. “Look” and “Face of Moscow” chose 15%. Closes the top five “Pay with a look” – this name was the least voted. 15% were in favor of specialists making the decision on the name in Russian Face Pay.
The launch of Face Pay in the Moscow metro took place in September 2021. A year later, in September 2022, the service became available on MCC. It is expected to go into operation in the MCD and in land transport this year.
