The young designers demonstrated to the delegation headed by Mishustin flying and underwater drones, a digital sonar modem and an unmanned ship “Labyrinth”, which combines all of the above devices into a single system that is capable of operating at a great distance from ground control points. The inventors also showed the guests a human gait data acquisition system to train the neural network used in the prosthetic device.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation urged robotics specialists to closely follow the main world trends and cooperate with colleagues from other Russian universities.
“Look at what has already been done to date: it is not so difficult to talk to colleagues from another university and see what the neighbors have,” the prime minister was quoted as saying by the FEFU press service.
According to the young scientists, many developments are already ready for mass production by local industrial companies.
– Our device is designed to replace imports of underwater hydroacoustic modems from Germany, USA and Norway. There are no analogues of these devices in Russia today. This development was done at FEFU and it is a solution ready to launch into mass production,” said Alexander Avdyushev, a master’s student at FEFU Polytechnic Institute and one of the developers of a digital hydroacoustic modem.
