Apple TV has released the first trailer for Napoleon. The main role in the film was played by Joaquin Phoenix. The premiere of the film is scheduled for November 22. The subsequent release will take place via streaming.
The film will tell about the formation of Napoleon, as well as his rapid and ruthless rise to imperial power through the prism of a dependent and often volatile relationship with his wife Josephine. The debut trailer showed images of the Egyptian campaign of 1798-1801, whose purpose Napoleon set the conquest of the country.
The wife of the French emperor, Josephine Beauharnais, was played by Killing Eve star Jodie Comer. The film also stars Ben Miles, Ludivine Sagnier, Tahar Rahim, Ian McNeice, Youssef Kerkur, Katherine Walker, and Matthew Needham. Ridley Scott directed.
The director and Phoenix already worked together, more than twenty years ago, on the movie “Gladiator.” Then the actor had the opportunity to embody the image of the Roman emperor Commodus on the screen. For this role, he was nominated for an Academy Award.
