According to local authorities, five bodies of the dead have already been recovered from the rubble. Another 10 people were injured and were taken to Jhelam District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ), where all medical personnel were urgently called in to treat the injured.
Deputy Commissioner Hasan Tariq told reporters that four to five more people could be under the rubble. Rescuers are working at the scene of the incident, raking up the debris, including with the help of heavy equipment.
According to official data, the incident occurred at around 9:45 a.m. local time (7:45 a.m. Moscow time) in the city of Dzhelam.
