The Russian Defense Ministry has shown footage of the combat work of the crew of the Malka self-propelled artillery unit of the Primorsky combined-arms unit of the Vostok group of troops. The main specialization of the artillery crew is enemy guns, which are located tens of kilometers from the front line.
But Malka destroys temporary deployment points and command posts with a single shell. Neither concrete floors nor basements can save the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from injuries and concussions.
“Target reconnaissance and artillery guidance are carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles day and night. During the special military operation, crews of Malka self-propelled artillery systems carry out precise long-range strikes against designated targets,” the military department said.
The 203-mm cannon’s shell is so large that two crew members take it out of storage on a special device. It weighs 133 kilograms. The gun itself is the same size – the most powerful and longest-range in the Russian army. It can launch such a colossus over 35 kilometers, and shells weighing up to 100 kilograms over 50.
“We destroyed enemy guns. So that nothing would stop our infantry from advancing. … The targets are different. Many things have already been destroyed. Both enemy checkpoints and guns were largely destroyed. We even lost count. They used to mark what they destroyed and where, but now they even stopped. …,” shares the commander of the gun with the call sign “Footballer.”
Temporary positions for the giant gun have been set up near the contact line. This was done for camouflage and protection from enemy drones. The crew of the self-propelled gun constantly changes positions.
“…The weapon is accurate, rifled. We camouflaged the weapon to the maximum. … Complete – thirty-seven kilometers – maximum range. They arrived at a temporary deployment point,” said the gunner, call sign “Alvarez.”
“The 2S7M Malka self-propelled gun has a 203-mm barrel and is designed to solve special problems: suppression and elimination of specially protected command and control posts, artillery, mortars, armored vehicles, rear areas and enemy personnel. The gun’s rate of fire is up to 2.5 rounds per minute,” the military department notes.
“… We have no problems. Everything is going well. The success of the entire shooting and the completion of the entire task depends on the number of each team. … We are smarter, we are better. The enemy does not like us to work,” shares the platoon commander with the call sign “Hussar.”
The enemy cannot defeat the Malka crew in an artillery duel. To do so, the self-propelled gun must still be in the vast area south of Donetsk in the direction of the special operation.
