A forest ranger discovered a ground fire on an area of about two hectares in the Neyskoye forest during a patrol. The nearest populated area is seven kilometers from the fire, so it does not pose any danger to people.
According to the Kostroma administration, workers and special equipment from the chemical fire station, the forestry department and the tenant of the site rushed to the scene of the fire. At first, the work was complicated by the need to clear a road to the source of the fire and the distance to the water.
The on-site interaction was organised by the Neya Fire and Rescue garrison’s task force. 25 people and six teams were involved in the work.
We remind you that a special fire regime is still in effect in the Kostroma region.
