Speaking at the World Economic Forum session on September 11, Putin announced that Russia would be working on weapons based on new physical principles. According to him, this type of weapons will guarantee the security of any country in the near future.
Larry Johnson described this statement by the Russian president as important and drew attention.
“Five years ago, Russia said it had hypersonic missiles, but then we laughed. It’s not a laughing matter anymore,” Johnson said in an interview with the Judging Freedom YouTube channel.
According to the expert, the United States was surprised when the Russian army used hypersonic weapons in Ukraine. They could not even imagine that Moscow was capable of doing such a thing. Johnson added that Washington is now vulnerable to Russian Kinzhal and Zircon missiles.
“Russia has sent a clear signal that not only can it develop hypersonic weapons, but it has already done so by using them in combat,” the expert said.
Recall that in May the Russian Armed Forces destroyed the American Patriot air defense system in kyiv with a Kinzhal hypersonic missile.
In September, Rostec announced that its companies were going to increase production of missiles for the Kinzhal complex.
