According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces “are trying to maintain a place called Bakhmut (Artemovsk) and which was created as a logistics center connecting railways and transportation hubs.” As a result, many “experienced fighters” were lost, and the rest were forced to “throw themselves into the positions of poorly trained recruits.”
The colonel painted the following picture: “Ukrainians climb into the trenches and literally wait for the moment when they will be destroyed.”
“Nobody in their right mind would do this,” RIA Novosti quoted McGregor as saying.
The agency also reports that McGregor previously estimated the number of total losses for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at 150,000 servicemen. Furthermore, he added, 35,000 of them are missing. Under these conditions, Kyiv is forced to mobilize adolescents aged 13-15 to replenish units.
Earlier, in November, the press service of the head of the European Commission, von der Leyen, removed from her speech a paragraph in which she stated that more than one hundred thousand Ukrainian soldiers died as a result of hostilities in Ukraine.
