Vologda Region Prosecutor Andrei Timoshichev has approved the charge against a 55-year-old local resident.
“A woman from Vologda is accused of receiving a large bribe. According to investigators, in 2020 and 2021, the accused worked as a deputy of the interdistrict inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service of Russia No. 11 in the Vologda region. In her official capacity, she advised a representative of two legal entities on issues of documentary tax audits, as well as other tax control measures, including the correct calculation and payment of corporate income tax and value added tax, which were already within her official competence,” the prosecutor’s office officials explain.
For consultation, a representative of commercial organizations handed the defendant two gift certificates from a travel agency for a total amount of 200 thousand rubles.
If the court proves the former tax official guilty, the Vologda resident may be sentenced to up to 12 years in prison with a fine of up to sixty times the amount of the bribe and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 10 years.
