Born in Anniston in 1935, Penny taught English for three decades, primarily teaching poetry and prose at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In the 1980s, Bob found a part-time job shooting a TV commercial for a local store, got carried away, dropped out of college in 1990, and dove into acting. When Penny wasn’t filming, she was involved in stage productions.
