According to the publication, the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to improve these armored vehicles so that they could withstand Russian anti-tank missiles. To do this, they installed dynamic protection between the hull and turret of the Leopard 2.
“To protect armored vehicles from fire in the event of an approaching explosion, reactive armor is needed. For this, containers with explosives are placed in the composite armor of the hull,” the newspaper clarifies (cited by RIA Novosti).
However, by doing so, kyiv revealed confidential information to the RF Armed Forces.
“A video posted on social media, which was also shared by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, showed the obvious vulnerability of the Leopard 2,” the author of the publication stressed.
Previously, Western media reported that the Russian army was able to successfully penetrate the armor of the best Western equipment. They say the pace at which armored vehicles are being destroyed is fueling calls for more supplies, although it raises questions about their effectiveness.
