American director Francis Ford Coppola, best known for his films The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, believes that a golden age awaits the film industry in the near future. This was reported by NME.
The filmmaker took to social media to share his take on the success of Barbie and Oppenheimer. The tapes were released on July 21. Coppola affirmed that these tapes are an example for other filmmakers.
“I haven’t seen them yet, but the fact that people are packing big theaters to see them, and they’re not sequels or prequels… and they don’t have numbers attached to them, I mean, they’re the only ones, that’s a win for the movie. Coppola said.
The director then added, speaking to fans, that he expects a big theatrical hit in the future. Coppola expressed the hope that the public will be able to see “a wonderful and instructive film” on the big screens.
It was previously reported that Shia LaBeouf and Jason Schwartzman will star in Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis. We talk about it in more detail here.
