Ekaterina Gravol (real name) was born on December 2, 1949 in Paris. She studied at the American Swarthmore College, she graduated from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, received a bachelor’s degree in history from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
She published her first novel in 1983. She has worked as a literary critic and columnist for the Nouvel Observateur. Her areas of interest were history, philosophy, psychoanalysis and astrophysics.
The eldest son is an actor, writer and producer, the famous heartthrob Raphael Enthoven, Bruni gave birth to his son Aurelien, respectively, grandson David.
