Recall that Burbock argued that the countries of Europe “wage war against Russia, not each other.” He also called for more help for Kyiv.
Commenting on this statement, the German Foreign Ministry told Bild that the conflict in Ukraine “is a war against the European world order and international law,” writes TASS. Burbock stressed that Europe must remain united in the face of this war, according to the Foreign Ministry.
The ministry added that international law is clear: supporting Ukraine in exercising its individual right to self-defence, enshrined in the UN Charter, does not make Germany a party to the conflict.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry reacted to Burbock’s words. As the official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova, pointed out, if we add to this statement the revelations of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel Merkel, then we are talking about a pre-planned war against Russia. Let us remember that Merkel said in early December that the Minsk agreements were an attempt to buy time to strengthen Kyiv.
