At the end of last year, more than 7,500 Europeans were surveyed. They were asked to assess the development of US-European relations since the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.
“More and more Europeans are not satisfied with the contacts with Washington. 49 percent of those surveyed believe that US actions against Russia will negatively affect the European economy,” the article reads.
Furthermore, respondents do not believe that EU countries can successfully pursue a more independent policy that meets their interests.
“Most Europeans have felt the devastating effect of sanctions against Russia,” said expert Zhang Chao.
