In an interview with Collider, the American director Guy Ritchie spoke about the work on the new part of Sherlock Holmes, in which Robert Downey Jr. will return to the role of the detective. According to Richie, the latter will act not only as an actor, but also as a screenwriter.
“Well, to be honest, I’d leave it up to Robert. She wanted to be in charge of the project. The ball is in her side, so he is responsible for the script and the entire project as a whole, ”the director shared.
Any details are unknown. A release date has not been revealed either. The release was delayed several times: initially the picture was supposed to be released in 2020, then it was reported about the premiere in 2021.
The third part will be directed by Dexter Fletcher, best known for his role in Guy Ritchie’s “Lock, Stock, Two Smoking Barrels” and as the director of “Rocketman.” Guy Ritchie, who directed the first two films, left the project.
The first Sherlock Holmes film starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law was released in 2009, followed by a sequel in 2011. The paintings were commercially successful.
Recall that in Turkey, shooting began on Guy Ritchie’s new project “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” (in the original – “The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare”). This is a spy movie about World War II. Henry Cavill, known as Geralt of Rivia from the Netflix series The Witcher and Superman from the DC movies, will play the lead role.
