Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2023 Collection by Jean Paul Gaultier

For the past two years, Jean-Paul Gaultier has relied on designers to work on haute couture collections: Sacai’s Chitose Abe, Y/Project and Diesel designer Glenn Martens, Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing have already shown their collections based on The Jean Paul Archives. Gaultier. In the spring-summer 2023 season, Haider Ackermann became the guest designer. As a basis, he took Gauthier’s first haute couture collection in 1997, but made it in his own style. Ackermann’s silhouettes are elongated, strict, with sharp corners. Narrow cropped jackets are embroidered with narrow black ribbons, corsets are made of stiff feathers, the famous bras are covered with satin of deep colors, the embroidery on tracksuits looks like a scattering of tailor’s pins. There’s also a couture hoodie with a twist-zip and wraparound hood. There are many colors in the collection: orange, blue, ultramarine, light green, but not a single print.
