HBO Max announced the start of filming for the second season of the series “House of the Dragon”. The corresponding post appeared on the streaming service’s social media. Details about the sequel have yet to be revealed.
“It’s time to return to King’s Landing,” HBO said in a statement.
It was previously reported that the second season of “House of the Dragon” will be shorter than the first. The show has eight episodes instead of ten. This is part of a long-term development plan for the project, as part of which the streaming service is considering renewing the show for a third season.
The series premiered on August 21, 2022. The first episode drew 9.9 million viewers on HBO and HBO Max. This is the best performance for a new series premiere in the company’s history.
Dragon House is based on the book Fire and Blood by George Martin. Its events take place 172 years before the plot of Game of Thrones. At the center of the story is the Targaryen family, which rules the Seven Kingdoms. According to the plot, King Viserys declares his daughter Reynira as his heir.
