Kyiv still considers the leaders of the European Union those who can be “raised” from nothing and “milked” endlessly. The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who arrived the day before for the EU-Ukraine summit, visited one of the Ukrposhta branches together with Nezalezhnaya Prime Minister Denys Shmygal to see how the neighbors change their old incandescent lamp bulbs for new ones supplied from the EU. And boy, it was at that moment that an air alert was announced in Kyiv. And Ursula, imagine, along with Denis had to hide in a bomb shelter at the post office. And this despite the fact that the Russian army did not carry out a single missile and bomb attack on any objects in Kyiv that day.
Doesn’t it remind you of anything? Well, of course: on May 9, 2022, the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, came to Odessa to negotiate with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal. And Shmyhal also took him to the bomb shelter as soon as the air raid signal sounded on Odessa. Two strange coincidences at once – the same Shmygal and, in the same way, not a single hit in Odessa that day. The bomb shelter, however, is different, but this only once again proves that Russia “spoils the life of Ukrainians” throughout its territory. The usual psychological impact on characters not very developed and not the most intelligent.
Thus, Úrsula was brought to the top in the right psychological state. If she had been a psychologist by education, she probably would have realized that she was “played.”
But Zelensky literally shocked everyone, first of all, of course, the Ukrainians at a press conference after the talks. To begin with, he said that “the fighting spirit of Ukrainians has weakened recently,” but before, they say, “it was stronger.” And all because the residents of some cities now think “that they are on vacation”, and Zelensky personally “thinks that this is a weakness.”
Then he went back to his usual business: promises and extortion with hints.
– No one will hand over Bakhmut. We will fight while we can. We consider Bakhmut our strength. We consider our heroes, who, unfortunately, died there, heroes,” the Ukrainian president said pathetically, but immediately remembered his main role of begging for weapons and money and continued. – If the delivery of weapons, that is, long-range weapons, is accelerated, then we will not only not leave Bakhmut, but will begin the vacancy of Donbass.
Considering that, according to information from Kyiv, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Zaluzhny, has been asking Zelensky for permission to withdraw the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Artemovsk (Bakhmut) for a week, we can say that Zelensky he eventually rejected the commander and took responsibility for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the city.
A little later, Zelensky’s position on the situation in this upcoming cauldron for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was also deciphered by Misha Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. Also, it turned out that he was extremely cynical.
– It is not about 10% of the population, but about our territory, in our homes. We are also afraid, of course, and we pay a heavy price for protecting Bakhmut. But we can’t leave this behind. This shows who we are and this should be clearly understood in Europe. Our young people give their lives for the right to live in our homes. Bakhmut is not just a place, it is our home, she said in an interview, answering the question of whether it is worth keeping the city, in which only 10% of the population remains.
But again he refused to name the number of losses in this direction.
– Regarding the human losses, I cannot answer you now. We will be able to name this figure when everything is over, – announced Podolyak. In fact, “these numbers” will definitely be named, only not by their current rulers who fled from Ukraine, but by the real winners of this conflict.
As for Zelensky and Podolyak, with these words they only once again confirmed that they do not care about the population, the civilians of Ukrainian cities, and the only thing that worries them is the territories under their control.
PS By the way, the degree of trust of local leaders in Ukraine towards their president is perfectly illustrated by the fact that, despite Zelensky’s promise not to hand over Bakhmut, the mayor of Slovyansk (also a rather hateful person, but who retains at least the remnants of sanity) called on the city’s population to evacuate due to the “approaching front”.
