On New Year’s Eve, the government, together with the authorities of the Moscow region, decided to surprise motorists. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov opened traffic on the first stage of the Northern Lobnya Ring Road and the main route of the Lobnya-Sheremetyevo Airport Highway (Lobnenskoye Highway).
As Mikhail Mishustin pointed out, crossing the railway in Lobnya has been the cause of major traffic jams for years.
– Long waits in traffic jams ruined people’s mood, frustrated plans and created additional costs for businessmen. Now the city can finally breathe a sigh of relief,” Mishustin said.
With the start of movement along the northern bypass of Lobnya (the first 5 km section is already open), the time of departure from the city will be reduced from 1.5-2 hours to 20 minutes. Now the passage of cars from the Dmitrovskoye highway to the Khlebnikovo-Rogachevo-Lugovaya highway, including the overpass through the railway in the Savelovsky direction, is carried out on six lanes (three in each direction). When driving from Moscow, the entrance to the Northern Lobnya Ring Road is available via Starodmitrovskoye and Dmitrovskoye highways. When driving from Lobnya towards Moscow, there is a U-turn in the area of the Dmitrovskoye highway.
The second stage of work provides for the construction of interchanges on the Rogachevskoye and Dmitrovskoye highways. They are to be delivered in 2023 and 2024. The final stage will be the construction of the exit to Sheremetyevo. The project is expected to be completed in 2024.
Mishustin also announced the launch of traffic along the main route of the Lobnya-Sheremetyevo airport highway (Lobnenskoye highway). The work was completed a year ahead of schedule. The carriageway was widened from two to four lanes, a new bridge was built over the Meshcherikha river, two elevated pedestrian crossings were erected near the village of Nosovo and Terminal B of the Sheremetyevo airport, two U-turn sections were provided near the Chashnikovo village and near the bridge across the Meshcherikha river with an adjustable intersection.
The total length of the reconstruction section is 6 km. In the second quarter of 2023, the authorities promise to complete the construction of side approaches, pedestrian zones and the construction of pedestrian crossings in the area of Promishlennaya and 2nd Northern Pass. Thanks to this, the travel time from Lobnya to Sheremetyevo (and vice versa) will be reduced by 30 minutes.
As Mishustin said, next year in the Moscow region, a total of 300 kilometers of roads and 50 bridges must be repaired.
Also, on Wednesday, Mikhail Mishustin opened two tracks in the Kuban and Stavropol regions via video link. These are the northern bypass of Anapa and the 30-kilometer section of the federal highway A-157 between the Minvod airport and Kislovodsk. The tracks were also commissioned a year ahead of schedule.
In total, more than 1,200 km of roads have been built and reconstructed in Russia this year.

Mishustin visited his school teachers
Once in Lobnya, Mikhail Mishustin decided to combine the useful (the opening of paths) with the pleasant. Lobnya is a city familiar to the first-hand prime minister. Mikhail Mishustin studied here at secondary school No. 7. So, the prime minister decided that before the New Year he should visit his former teachers. He happened to visit his literature teacher Larisa Barasheva. With her, the Prime Minister was also received by physics teacher Nina Gusak. The prime minister and teachers reminisced about years gone by and looked at school photos. Mishustin even quoted one of the poems dedicated to his teachers. During his school years, the prime minister was fond of versification.
