According to meteorologists, heavy and very intense rains with precipitation of up to 50 millimeters or more in 12 hours will occur on the night and morning of this Wednesday under the influence of active frontal sections. Similar weather will set in for most of the region on Friday, August 25, due to the release of the southern cyclone.
“In the rivers of the region, the formation of local rain floods with a height of elevation of the water level, mainly from 0.5 to 1.5 meters, is expected again. With a significant rainfall intensity in the upper reaches of the rivers and in small watercourses, sudden increases in water of up to 2.1 meters are possible,” the message said in the statement.
Recall that the floods in Primorye began after heavy rains that took place on August 9-11. More than five thousand residential buildings and 7.4 thousand residential plots were flooded.
Meteorologists are predicting heavy rains to reach five more regions of the Far East.
